The new $470 million Maitland Hospital is being delivered by the NSW Government and will provide infrastructure and increased health services capacity to support projected growth in the Maitland region over the next 10 years. By embracing innovative technology, the new Maitland Hospital will create new ways of working to improve performance and achieve better health outcomes.
The new hospital will offer a wider range of services with significantly more beds and treatment spaces. It will include emergency care, chemotherapy chairs, surgical services, critical care, maternity services, paediatric care, cardiac catheterisation, inpatient beds, mental health, rehabilitation services and outpatient clinics.
The new Maitland Hospital is planned to open in 2022 and will meet the growing health service needs for the surrounding communities of the Hunter Valley now and into the future.
