Rauland Australia engaged for Tweed Valley Hospital

Rauland Australia Pty Ltd has been engaged by Lendlease Building to deliver the Rauland Responder Nurse Call and Master Clock systems and associated clinical workflow, design, delivery, and installation services for the new Tweed Valley Hospital currently under construction in northern New South Wales.

The $673.3 million Tweed Valley Hospital will deliver a new state-of-the-art, major regional referral hospital to meet the healthcare needs of the growing Tweed-Byron region community. The 430-bed facility will have an expanded emergency department with 42 treatment spaces, 12 operating theatres and expanded outpatient services. The Hospital will also offer a new interventional cardiology service and a new radiotherapy service as part of integrated cancer care.

The new Tweed Valley Hospital will provide the community with access to more health services closer to home, reducing the need for 5,000 patients to travel outside the region each year to receive treatment.

Steve Gomes, Executive Director, Rauland Australia commented: “We’re delighted to work with Health Infrastructure, Northern NSW Local Health District and Lendlease Building to deliver the Tweed Valley Hospital. The Hospital is the largest investment in regional health infrastructure for the NSW Government and we’re very excited to play our part in this significant project.”

Main construction works commenced in January 2021 and the Hospital is due for completion in 2023. The Tweed Valley Hospital will be an environmentally responsible development and will achieve the equivalent of a 4-star Greenstar rating.
